For Hong Kong-based Brazilian artist JUM, the path to digital mastery wasn't exactly linear. Growing up in a nature-oriented family that championed creativity, she didn't actually own a computer until she started university. Yet, today, she is a force in the digital art world, proving that artistic vision transcends the tools available.

JUM’s unique, hypnotizing style took years to develop. It began in childhood with colorful landscapes, but even then, a thread of surrealism was woven through her work. Over time, this evolved into her signature aesthetic: visuals that blur the line between real life and imagination.

This distinct style has made waves in the local scene. Earlier this year, JUM held her first solo exhibition displaying her 2D illustrations. She also collaborated with HKWALLS, a non-profit street art organization, to custom-paint a 3D heart in her vibrant, mutualistic style.

Her work is highly autobiographical, telling stories of dreams and self-expression. But there is literally more than meets the eye.

JUM uses Artivive, an augmented reality (AR) technology, to bring her color, patterns, and movement to life. This tool allows her to add dimensionality to the viewer’s interpretation, granting insight into her internal feelings. By using Artivive’s simple interface, she ensures that anyone with a smartphone in their pocket can unlock the hidden layers of her digital canvas...
