So, what exactly does it mean to be productive? Productivity is essentially a measure of how efficiently and effectively you use your time to achieve desired results. It can be the ratio of output to input, the amount of work done in a given period of time, or tackling things that are a priority!

Productivity is important because it helps us get more done with less effort and resources. By increasing our productivity, we can become more efficient and effective at achieving our goals. Productivity is a key factor in achieving success. It allows us to focus on the important tasks and prioritise them accordingly. Additionally, we believe that by using productivity tools, we can maximize our time so that we can get things done better and more efficiently.

Why Are You Failing At Being Productive?

Although there are many reasons as to why one may be failing to be productive, there are a few common causes  of your lack of productivity.

  1. Distractions

Excessive use of social media, checking of emails, or any other distracting  tasks can take many of us away from the task at hand, deterring us from being productive. A solution to this could be to reduce possible distractions around you when working. This means to mute or turn off notifications for unimportant apps, cleaning up your work desk so nothing on it catches your attention and setting your priorities straight so you’re able to get tasks done according to importance or urgency level.

  1. Procrastination

Putting off tasks until the last minute or waiting for inspiration to kick in before starting may lead to missed deadlines and a decreased overall productivity. A possible solution to this could be to devise a plan which takes into account the importance of various tasks at hand, as well as create a  time management schedule. This way, you’ll be able to identify tasks of the highest priority and decide which tasks are to be done first and when.

  1. Poor Time Management

Not setting priorities, failing to schedule tasks, or not allocating enough time to complete each task can lead to feeling overwhelmed and thus, a lack of productivity. Ensure that you allocate yourself ample time to complete each tasks at a comfortable pace. Aim for bite-sized steps to enable yourself to breathe in between and not feel stressed out

It is important to first understand your relationship with productivity. You’ll need to know how and why you want to achieve productiveness as well as what exactly is keeping you from being efficient. From here, you’ll then be able to devise a suitable plan for yourself. There are a few steps you can follow to achieve and maintain a healthy and productive work system.

  1. Start by identifying your goals – what is it you want to achieve and why? Also, sort them according to priority of importance or urgency.
  2. Examine your current lifestyle and habits – take a look at what you’re currently spending your time on, and decide on how you can better make use of your time.
  3. Choose the right tools: With today’s advancements in technology, there are many productivity tools out there that can help with productivity, whether it be for fitness, time management or project coordination.
  4. Decide on a routine – establish a daily routine that works for you and your desired productivity levels.
  5. Take breaks and make time for self-care – make sure to take good care of yourself, as the only way to perform your best is to feel your best.
  6. Limit distractions and set boundaries – eliminate unnecessary distractions around you and learn to say “no” to non-essential commitments that don’t align with your end goals.
  7. Celebrate successes – reward yourself whenever you hit huge milestones or smaller achievements.
  8. Review and adjust – it is perfectly normal to require tweaks and adjustments as we go along with our productivity systems, as it will never be perfect straight off the bat.
